Docpipe is built so you can trust its answers — not because the AI is always right, but because every answer is grounded in your own documentation and shows you where it came from.
Answers come from your docs
Docpipe doesn't answer from general knowledge. It retrieves the most relevant passages from your knowledge base (and any indexed code), then writes an answer from that material. If it can't find supporting content, it says so instead of guessing — see When docs can't answer.
Follow the sources
Every knowledge-base answer comes with its Sources:
- In the web assistant (asking across All documents), a Sources list appears beneath the answer.
- In Slack, a Sources section lists the documents — and any indexed code files — behind the reply.
Each source is a link to the document it came from. Open it to read the full context and confirm the details, especially before acting on anything important. Every answer also carries a reminder that AI can make mistakes — which is exactly why the sources are one click away.
Why grounding matters
Because answers are tied to real documents, they're only as current as those documents. That's the point of the whole loop: capture keeps the docs up to date, review keeps them trustworthy, and verification flags when a source may have gone stale — so the answers built on them stay reliable.
