Troubleshooting
When something isn't working as expected.
The Slack bot isn't responding
Usually the install needs attention — a token was revoked, or Docpipe's permissions changed. Reconnect from Settings → Integrations → Slack. See Slack.
My capture didn't create a document
That's expected — capture creates a proposal, not a document. Open the Review inbox (Review in the sidebar) to approve it. If nothing appears at all, the message may not have contained anything worth capturing, or the channel isn't watched.
I can't edit a document
Editing requires Editor or Admin access to the document's space. If you only have Viewer access, ask a space admin or an organization owner to grant it. See Space access.
I hit a limit or a feature is locked
Some features and volumes are part of the Pro plan. Docpipe's upgrade prompt names the exact limit you reached. Review what each plan includes under Plans & usage. Nothing you've created is ever deleted by a limit.
I can't add a teammate
The Free plan includes 3 seats, and pending invitations count toward them. Free a seat by revoking an unaccepted invitation, or upgrade to Pro for unlimited seats. See Seats & members.
Search or the assistant can't find a recent document
Two common reasons: the document is still a draft (drafts are private to their author until published), or it was just created and is still being indexed for search. Publish it and give it a moment. See Document lifecycle.
An integration says it needs reconnecting
Reconnect it from its page under Settings → Integrations. One caution: for Jira and Linear, disconnecting permanently deletes the links between your documents and that provider's issues, and reconnecting won't restore them — so change a connection's settings in place rather than disconnecting and reconnecting. See Jira and Linear.
My MCP client won't connect
Check that you're using the endpoint https://app.docpipe.co/api/mcp, passing your key as a bearer token, and that your plan includes the MCP server (it's a Pro feature). If the key was lost, revoke it and create a new one.
